We believe that the answers to eradicate poverty already exist within the communities.

What drives the community at HBB is a passion to activate the potential that already exists within poor and hurting communities locally and around the world.

We are not the answer.

We simply strive to collaborate with communities in identifying, empowering and mobilizing local leadership teams with training and resources. In the process of such collaborative efforts we believe that solutions to re-develop communities will be discovered.

Some guiding principals that we have discovered which increases a community’s chance for success:

>Targeting the core
Regardless of how broken or absent, we are all born into a small community called the family.

When we train local leaders to address the root issues of broken or absent families within a community, a significant portion of the community's struggles tend to solve themselves.

>Empowering every facet
Communities that progress in limited spheres remain unstable.

We are committed to empowering local leaders to establish a holistic approach to community development initiatives that work toward equality and justice in education, employment, housing, government, faith and recreation.

>Reconciliation
Without reconciliation, development is a fleeting dream.

We are committed to training local leaders how to work toward restoring relationships across socio-economic, racial and other dividing lines within their communities.
